World Chocolate Day 🍫😋

It is World Chocolate Day today (7th July) – what better excuse to have a little indulgence.

Not only does eating dark chocolate trigger the brain to release endorphins, known as the “feel good” hormones but cocoa also has some other surprising health benefits including:

✅ High in magnesium, iron and zinc

✅ High in polyphenols and flavonoids which have protective antioxidant properties

✅ Helps reduce stress

✅ Helps control sugar cravings

In the WLA we do not demonise any foods and no foods are off-limits. We use the 80:20 guide along with the WLA formula, portion sizes, intuitive eating and behaviour change to help you eat foods that you enjoy without feeling restricted.

SO HELL YES – EAT CHOCOLATE TODAY 🍫

👀 But remember to control your portion size – a few squares should be enough to satisfy those chocolate cravings and go for a chocolate with a high % of cacao solids as these will contain fewer added sugars.

Here is one of our favourite chocolate recipes – hope you enjoy it 🤩🍫🍊
